First LONE RANGER pic unleashed
March 8, 2012 - This is just getting ridiculous. Johnny Depp needs to stop being so hot. Look how the costumers tried to distract you from his hotness by putting an entire bird on his head, and yet...still hot. The chicks in the royal family wore birds on their heads at the wedding, and they looked ridiculous to everyone except Heidi Klum and her merry band of fashionistas. Yet here we are, with face paint and a crow and...sigh. If someone doesn't try to duplicate this on RuPaul's Drag Race this season, I will be disappointed. Also nice of the costumers was to give Armie Hammer the very same cooling eye mask that my nana wears to bed every night to soothe her under-eye pockets. It looks really good next to The Hotness over there.

Iron Man 2 Panel - Comic Con 2009: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
August 19, 2009 - I was asked mostly two questions when I got back to Los Angeles from San Diego.  The first, did I see the Iron Man footage?  The second was did we actually kill any “Twilighters,” and if not why?  The answer to the first is “yes.”  The answer to the second is “no.”

“9 & District 9 Panels” Hall H - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
August 5, 2009 - The everyday “geek girls” just casually wandering around Comic Con in costume make The Suicide Girls look like The Amish.  I was waiting in line for the bathroom in Hall H and a girl walked by dressed as a Steampunk Vampire.  I swear to you, as she passed, I watched a twelve-year-old boy directly across from me become a man.

Disney Animation Panel: San Diego Comic Con 2009 - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
July 31, 2009 - Events like Comic Con take planning and dedication.  You have to get plenty of water, eat well, and most importantly you need to get plenty of sleep.  The Mafia had none of these things.

Trick or Treat - Comic Con 2009
July 30, 2009 - San Diego Comic Con 2009 was filled with many surprises, the least of which being my co-host out-drinking me two out of the four days.  It was exactly that sort of unpredictability that made this trip, in the parlance of Bill & Ted, such an excellent adventure.

Gariana's Top Ten Movies of 2008
January 22, 2009 - My top 10 list was posted last night over at "Where Hot Comes to Die."

Even Brad Pitt Cannot Stop Christmas Violence
December 27, 2008 - Well mafiosi, we all knew that we couldn't escape this holiday season without somebody getting shot.  With 3 people getting killed on Black Friday, the stench of violence hung in the air as rancid as Axl Rose's apartment in the late 80s.  The only thing I didn't anticipate was that the gunshots would ring out in the second-most holy of holy places this Christmas...the multiplex.

Gariana Just Can't Let the Twilight Conversation Die
December 23, 2008 - Mafiosi, you all remember the explosive episode that was "Chalupa Eyes on the Woo Woo Bus," wherein Grae and Gariana openly bashed Twilight while guest Bonnie Tuttle fought them vasliantly.  Well, the following is a transcript of emails between the 3 of them regarding the latest news that Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has been canned.

Happy Day You Turkeys!
November 27, 2008 - We are thankful this year for many things...

Gariana Slums With Danny Boyle
November 21, 2008 - This movie should count as an AFI screening for me, we had passes and then some things came up and we weren’t able to attend.  It broke my heart.  Speaking of my heart, as black and misdirected as it may be, this week it belongs to Danny Boyle.

Gariana's Final AFI Film: Wendy & Lucy
November 12, 2008 - It’s hard to put my finger on exactly why Kelly Reichardt’s films are so moving and haunting.  It might have something to do with that old saying about truly great artists making what they do look effortless.

Gariana Sees the Light on AFI Day 7
November 10, 2008 - "Until the Light Takes Us" is a documentary about the Norwegian black metal scene.  Directed by Aaron Aites.  A friend gave me a book about this very subject called “The Lords Of Chaos.”  It's a very good and incredibly well-researched book on Black Metal, and like my first glass of Makers Mark, ruined me as for anything that came after.  That book may have wrecked this films' chances out of the gate.

ADDENDUM To Gariana's Day Two Article from Grae
November 8, 2008 - Okay, so I saw Kim Jee-woon’s Korean western "The Good The Bad The Weird" and I must say that there are a few key things that Gariana failed to mention specifically about the film.  In no particular order...

AFI Day 6: On a Witch Hunt with Grae
November 8, 2008 - I am a huge fan of documentaries.  I love to learn, and since I am no longer in school, the way I gather knowledge and information is by A) talking to people and asking them questions, B) going to museums, C) reading books and magazines, and D) watching documentaries.  Since this a movie review site, I will discuss letter D.  I love AFI because I get my fix of docs, which generally have a much harder time getting released since the masses don't thirst for knowledge like I do.  Which is fine, because they also don't share my penchant for spinning plates and if they did, where would we be then?  What would we eat on?!

Gypsy-rific Day 5!
November 7, 2008 - Grae and Gariana actually saw the stars align as they were BOTH able to make a screening of "Gogol Bordello: Non Stop" at the AFI film fest.

Gariana in Full "Bloom" on AFI's Day 4!
November 5, 2008 - I have slept about four hours in the past four days.  I was going to throw the towel in and call it a night and go home early to catch up on some desperately needed sleep.  Adam Trash, the print inspector for AFI, greeted that statement by asking if he could borrow my super frilly dress for next Halloween as he wanted to go as “Little Bo Peep.”  Then, with an evil glint in his eye he handed me an energy drink.  I forget the name, but it probably doesn’t matter as I’m sure it’s illegal in this country.  Why?  Not only was it not approved by the FDA, but I swear on the back it just had a picture of a fetus with a red circle that had a slash through it.  I probably shouldn’t have drank it, but I was dying to see “The Brothers Bloom.”

Grae takes AFI Day 3 by Storm!
November 3, 2008 - I decided to start today off with a bang.  Blood, guts, gnashing teeth, questionable moral choices.  And then I kicked his ass OUT of bed and got to the AFI film festival!  Hey!

I saw Deadgirl, directed by Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel.  I was super-psyched about this one, as I had heard a lot of talk about how nasty and shocking it was, and that is right up my alley.  I got my work out of the way, zoomed over to the ole ARC, and met up with the Mighty G for some moral support and a Krispy Kreme donut.  Okay, she gave me two donuts.  The Krispy Kremes flow like water around that place, as they are a sponsor, and I didn't argue because I was hungry.  She was my Brunch Angel.

AFI Film Festival: Day 2 with Gariana
November 2, 2008 - I ran into Grae at the “Toyko” screening yesterday.  She was sitting in the front row, hung over badly, and wielding a giant burrito like it was a weapon while threatening to throw up on everybody.  I expect who ever gave us press credentials to be fired by Monday at the latest.

AFI Film Festival: Grae's Day Uno
November 1, 2008 - Well mafiosi, this is my favorite time of year.  I just dressed as something slutty and made an ass out of myself in West Hollywood at the Halloween parade, and from here on out there are 4 major things to look forward to.  Turkey Day, Christ's birthday, MY birthday, and the AFI film festival.  Not in that order.

The Constitution Ain't the Only Thing With Amendments
September 22, 2008 - So don't think this is going to be a habit or anything, but let me officially blog-declare that Gariana was totally, totally right on this week's podcast with Hash Patel.

The Official Popcorn Mafia Guide To Sneaking Into The Movies
September 20, 2008 - I was struggling this week to find something fun to write about.  The releases have been weak and I have been busier than the guy mopping the “George Lucas Booth” at a shit throwing convention.  I told Grae I was having trouble finding my “muse.”  She looked me straight in the face and said, “Write about sneaking into the movies.  You're Mexican, you are the best I have ever seen.”  It’s at this point I wish I could tell you which hospital room Hellcat is staying in and where to send your flowers and cards, but this time I can only tell you that she is right.  I am shockingly good at sneaking into the movies, but it has more to do with having worked in them my whole life rather than my heritage.  Please just send cards that tell her to stop being a horrible person.

Chris Penny is coming!
September 19, 2008 - We had to change the movie this week.  Instead of "Blindness" we will be reviewing "Ghost Town."  Here's what guest Chris Penny had to say about it...

Gas, Grass, or Ass...nobody bangs the hot older chick for free!
September 10, 2008 - I ran "Weird Science" yesterday.  It was part of the new series at "The Silent Movie Theater" which is actually called, "When Cougars Attack."  I made the, "Gas, Grass, or…" comment as I came bouncing out of the projection booth to refill my diet coke.  Hadrian who runs "The Silent" got quiet and a bit sad and said he wish he had thought to call the series that.

Sword of Doom Slices Through Grae's Heart
September 3, 2008 - This last Saturday, Jeffy (Friend of the Show) made me go see Sword of Doom at the Cinefamily.  I use the word “made” on purpose, because as badass as I am, I am not really into samurai movies.  I love Asian stuff but somehow men in funny socks wielding swords just doesn’t get my engine revving.  Hey, Mr. or Ms. Judgerson, just relax.  Everyone has their thing and mine is nature-gone-wrong flicks.  Okay?  Let’s move on.

Crazy 4 Cult 2...This time, it's personal...
September 2, 2008 -

I hit the c4c2 this year with Bonnie Tuttle, a long time friend and the only one who wanted to go with me to last years' show, and of course Grae Drake, my co-conspirator.
