Newspaper Fire of Delight

Date: January 17, 2010
Guest: Louis Virtel
Movies: Youth in Revolt, Daybreakers
Trailers: The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Sex and the City 2

G2 gets seriously Virtelled in this episode starring none other than wordsmith Louis--you guessed it--Virtel.  The trio quickly rallies and declares themselves the Champions of Hay (wait until next week to see if they can expand to more popular and necessary humanitarian efforts).  Then shortly after, they start picking out which movie stars they want to make into keychains.  Youth in Revolt causes Louis to swear enthusiastically at Gariana, and Daybreakers gets him to swear (but just in general).  Find out what kind of music is best to make love to, what kind of liquor goes with what kind of snacky treats, and what exactly a "Fire Extinguisher Freak Out" is.

Date: January 10, 2010
Guest: Doug Eboch
Movies: The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, Crazy Heart
Trailers: Furry Vengeance, Inception

This week screenwriter Doug Eboch joins G2 to discuss the usual subjects of midgets, garbage, patriotism, and deskeletonized actresses.  Seeing as how he was responsible for the original screenplay of Sweet Home Alabama, he attempts to bring an air of legitimacy to the show.  Instead he is forced to weigh in on whether or not Jeff Bridges should be referred to as The Bridge and exactly how dreamy Colin Farrell is on a scale of one to "Do Me Now."

Kim Basinger Vacuuming Dumbtacular

Date: January 3, 2010
Guest: Dave White
Movies: Precious, Sherlock Holmes
Trailers: ,

Author Dave White kicks off 2010 by announcing that he is the death of film criticism.  This opens the door for Gariana to begin yammering about mojitos, and Grae invites everyone up to space for an orgy.  The movies Precious and Sherlock Holmes only ramp up the madness based on their (possible?) relationship to racism and homosexuality.  Even with the promise of a new year, it's nice to know that some things never change.

You Can Take the Boy Out of Jersey

Date: December 13, 2009
Guest: Bryan Strang
Movies: Fantastic Mr. Fox, Armored
Trailers: Kick Ass, Greenberg

Movie fanatic Bryan Strang makes the critical mistake of admitting he's from Jersey, which quickly earns him the nickname "Pookie," as well as the constant judgement of G2.  Gariana earns the nickname  "Finger on the Pulse," and Grae earns no nickname but insists on getting a "PedEgg for her heart."  Somewhere in the middle of all that they discuss whether Fantastic Mr. Fox is in fact any of those words, and if Armored is anything more than a propaganda video for succumbing to peer pressure.

Matthew Robinson, co-director and co-writer of The Invention of Lying, tries to discuss his film and instead ends up in the middle of Grae recasting the role of her co-host and making fun of Gariana's pants.  Gariana carries her outrage into an episode-long rant about how her car is NOT made exclusively for losers and how Matty is inconsiderate with other people's things.  Finally, Matty is able to distract her and they all discuss how the best part of Men Who Stare at Goats was Jeff Bridges' disappearing/reappearing turkey neck.

Michael Monterastelli returns to the treehouse, this time with donuts and a penchant for screaming "OH!" at inopportune moments.  He shines his Chicago wisdom on The Fourth Kind while Grae tries desperately to hypnotize Gariana, who is too busy trying to pronounce everyone's name correctly.  Things quickly descend into madness when they bring up The Box, as Gariana bestows upon everyone the visual of her fellating James Marsden and pressing the button with her lady parts.  Yeah, sorry...I should have warned you I was going to say that.

Guest: Dave Smith
Movies: A Serious Man, Zombieland
Trailers: The Crazies, Pirate Radio

Gariana and screenwriter Dave Smith immediately launch into a game of "You Know You're Getting Old When..." and then eventually steer the conversation towards God's chosen people and A Serious Man.  This of course happens AFTER the shot of Jameson whiskey, so they all get colorful very fast.  Naturally, Zombieland follows the alcohol and mazel-tovving, and Grae gives away a huge spoiler that has caused the Mafia to make their FIRST EDIT EVER in the show.  We don't want to ruin this one for you, kids.

Guest: Jeremy Catalino
Movies: The Informant (Exclamation Point!), Surrogates
Trailers: Nightmare on Elm Street, Takers

It took approximately 75 episodes, but screenwriter Jeremy Catalino came back and brought back his "Cattle Speak."  This means he repeats the word NUDE a lot in a short amount of time and uses the term MICKEY FICKEY.  Gariana, getting in the spirit of the episode, tells a story about getting sexually harassed by a Starbucks employee, and then proceeds to put exclamation points at the end of all her words while discussing The Informant!  The three reviewers refuse to pronounce Surrogates without an accent of vaguely hispanic origin, and Gariana forces Jeremy to relive his memories of college-age sexual hi jinx.
